Opening Hearts

When God presents a need, and a way to fill that void, isn't it our job to help fill it? Because of the economic crisis in Italy, parents are faced with longer hours and more days spent at the office, just trying to get by. They need to have some place safe and trustworthy to send their kids while they’re at work.

For the past ten years, TEAM missionaries Stan and Annamarie Goertzen have put on a five-week summer camp in Forli. For parents, this has become an amazing solution! Every day, their children have sports time, crafts, games, worship songs, and English lessons. Kids also hear stories from the Bible and have the chance to ask questions and talk about the stories. They learn about how much God really loves them! The kids even get to explore the cities around them on weekly field trips. People from all over the world come to help at the camp and pour out their love on these kids each summer.

Over the years of doing this camp, the Goertzen's have earned the trust and respect of the parents as well as the city of Forli. They are an accredited summer camp, and every year their numbers grow.

What better way to show love to the parents too, then by showing their children love all week? Just think of the opportunities and open hearts God can create!
